Historically the team has hosted an info night and then a month later, commitment night where students had to register. For the 2022-2023 season 2052 changed it up and decided to try a combined Info / commitment night on 9/28 (while still allowing students to register on a rolling basis through a drop-dead deadline in October). Lessons learned from this experiment were that we should host our info night earlier in the pre-season rather than just a few days before the start of Turtle Trials which started 10/1; and that merch orders were possibly lower than normal since more people were unsure of whether they were committed to the team on info night.
For 2023-2024 the team will try hosting another combined info & registration night but at least 30 days earlier than last year to try and smooth the process out and get students acclimated before throwing everyone into Turtle Trials.
Projected 2023-2024 Timeline:
- September (~13th) – Info / commitment night (sell leftover merch only?)
- September (various) – Meetings commence ahead of Turtle Trials
- October – Turtle Trials begin / order new merch
